What is the difference between dental bonding and porcelain veneers?
Cosmetic Dentistry is a great way to improve the look of your smile and can even help you gain confidence. Two types of cosmetic dentistry, dental bonding, can both be used to enhance the tooth. But what is the Difference?
Dental Bonding Vs. Porcelain Veneers
- Dental bonding is a composite material that can be placed by the dentist in the office in 1 visit. It can be used to enhance the appearance (size, shape, and color) of teeth. They tend to be more uniform in color and less polishable with lower strength than Porcelian Veneers.
- Porcelain veneers can also be used to enhance the appearance of teeth, but are made out of much stronger, much more life-like looking material. The dentist will prepare the teeth for veneers, and then have a lab fabricate the final restoration.
