What's the difference between a bridge and an implant?
Missing teeth can be unfortunate, but there are great options for replacing missing teeth, and completing your smile. At our Phoenix AZ dental office, we recommend either dental bridges or dental implants for tooth replacement options. Both will give you the appearance of a full smile, but each have their diffences.
In the case of a bridge, teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are used to anchor a replac ement tooth. Bridges are helpful when the bone isn't strong enough to support an implant, and the purpose is to simply fill the gap where the missing tooth is.
An implant, on the other hand, is placed directly into the bone where the missing tooth was to provide support to a new replacement tooth. Implants can provide stability and support to protect the jaw and can provide a tooth replacement that will stay in place.
